Hi, I am Gayathri aka Gaya

An analyst by profession, I'm also a photographer at heart, mom to a handsome 5-year-old, a yoga enthusiast and above all, I proudly wear my South Indian sentiments on my sleeve.

Since my days in college, I have always loved being that person in any gathering that volunteers to click pictures. After spending over a decade in the Technology Industry, life took an unexpected turn when in 2018, a friend happened to look at some of the pictures I clicked and requested that I do a maternity photoshoot session with her.

What was supposed to just be a fun outing with a dear friend and a fairly decent SLR camera turned into an experience that was quite an eye-opener. It led me to take a year off from work to start off on my own journey that has today finally blossomed into Little Pixel Stories.

The learning so far has been immense and continues everyday but the experience has been even more gratifying. That feeling of being a part of someone’s special moments is beyond words. This is what I love to do and this is what makes me truly happy.

My little world…

I’ve always enjoyed drawing and painting and will very happily sit down for hours to get a canvas done. My home is my little happy place and is filled with vibrant colours and a gazillion plants. I find joy in watching every leaf unfold and every flower bloom. I am a sucker for vintage Indian decor and I am always on projects to revamp some corner of the house (mine or a friend's). What's a home without the colours and the flowers, eh?

My little playful cavoodle Coco brings out the child in me and is the happiest little fuzzball on the planet. My husband and my son are my strongest support systems as well as my biggest source of inspiration. V is my little model for most of my shoots and also doubles up as a helper/assistant while hosting my Pop-in events. D is my best friend, soul mate and partner-in-crime who is also my best critic and teacher.

What keeps me going?

That exciting feeling everytime I'm part of someone’s special moments, that allows me to share in their happiness and also make a contribution by making their memories last forever!

I love that I can freeze that time in their lives and capture the stories that can be relived for many many years...

My desire to see the beautiful in the ordinary and celebrate the humdrum everyday…
